OmniPitch beta: installing on Windows
=====================================

Works on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). There is a VST3 for your DAW (Ableton Live, Reaper, Cubase, Studio One,
FL Studio, Bitwig) and a standalone app. There is no AU: that is a Mac-only format.

0. Unblock the zip before extracting it: right-click the zip > Properties > tick "Unblock" > OK. Then
   Extract All. (You can skip this, but Windows will then ask "are you sure" about each file.)

1. Copy the plugin into your VST3 folder:

     VST3\OmniPitch.vst3  ->  C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\

   OmniPitch.vst3 is a folder, not a file: copy the whole folder. Windows asks for admin permission because
   that folder is shared; click Continue.

   Updating: delete the old OmniPitch.vst3 from that folder first. Copying the new one on top merges the two
   folders, and your DAW may keep loading the old version.

2. Restart your DAW, or rescan its plug-ins (Live: Settings > Plug-Ins > Rescan; Live caches plug-ins, so a
   full quit and relaunch is the surest).

3. OmniPitch is under Plug-Ins > OmniPitch, as an audio effect.

"Windows protected your PC"
---------------------------
These builds are not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may warn the first time you open the standalone app.
Click "More info", then "Run anyway". Defender may also scan it the first time. This does not mean anything
is wrong with it.

The editor
----------
The editor is a web page shown with Microsoft Edge WebView2, which comes with Windows 10 and 11. If the
editor window stays blank, install the "Evergreen WebView2 Runtime" from Microsoft
(https://developer.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/webview2/) and reopen it.

Standalone\OmniPitch.exe opens the editor without a DAW. Keep it next to its "web" folder. It has no song
transport, so Transfer does nothing in it; it is only for checking that the editor loads.

Uninstalling: delete OmniPitch.vst3 from C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\.
