OmniPitch beta: getting started
===============================

OmniPitch finds the notes in a recording of several voices (a choir, a vocal group, chords) and lets you
change each one on its own: its pitch, vibrato, drift, timing and level, the way Melodyne's polyphonic mode
does.

In Ableton Live (or any DAW)
----------------------------
1. Put OmniPitch on the audio track you want to edit, and open it.
2. Click "Transfer". It turns orange: "Armed".
3. Play the part of the song you want to edit. The audio comes into OmniPitch as it plays. Stop the song when
   you are done.
4. OmniPitch finds the notes (a few seconds), then gets each one ready for editing in the background. The bar
along the top shows how far it has got.
5. Edit. From now on OmniPitch plays its own (edited) copy of that section in place of the track's audio.

Change the song's tempo whenever you like: the edited section follows it and stays on the same beats. In
Melodyne's transfer mode, the audio stays at the old tempo.

Editing
-------
Right mouse button, or hold Q: the tool wheel. Or press 1-7.
1 Pitch drag a note up or down. Cmd-drag for cents. Double-click snaps it to the nearest semitone.
2 Modulation drag to scale its vibrato, 0-200%.
3 Drift drag to scale its slow pitch wander.
4 Split click where a note should become two.
5 Time drag a note earlier or later.
6 Volume drag up or down. Double-click mutes it.
7 Draw drag along a row to add a note that was missed.

Click a note to hear it on its own. Option-drag duplicates it. Delete removes a wrong note; J joins notes.
"Correct pitch…" pulls every note (or the selected ones) toward the nearest semitone. E switches between the
original and the edited version, and Cmd-Z undoes.

Your edits are saved with the Live Set.

Known limits in this beta
-------------------------
- Notes are found on a mono mix of the track. Each edit goes equally into both channels, so a voice panned
hard to one side is only partly moved.
- One section per plugin: Transfer again replaces it, and its edits.
- The editor gets notes ready more slowly than it will in a later version: allow about half the section's
  length.
- No export from inside the plugin yet. Bounce or freeze the track instead.
